Christmas Party
14 December 2010
A-000132
In December the had our traditional party. The meeting took the form of a "What Do You Think This Is?" , when members had brought an object of interest - either historic, or with a 'village interest', or an old implement for which the use was not obvious etc. Members were able to guess what the items were, and the 'owners' could 'tell us the story behind it'. Items ranged from a Romano-British nail to a WW2 era canning machine, and a stoneware bottle bearing the name of a Wargrave business, for members to 'identify'. We were then treated to refreshments of mulled wine and home made mince pies and blackberry and apple pies provided by Wendy Smith
