Christmas Party.

The Society's December meeting was the Christmas Party. A seasonal atmosphere was created in the room with a Christmas tree and other decorations. Members were inwardly warmed with the traditional mulled wine, apple and blackberry pies and mince pies, all made by committee member, Wendy Smith. The meeting included the showing of a humorous audio-visual "Problems with Ageing", created by the late Geoff Briggs. Members then participated in a multiple-choice quiz based on extracts from the Wargrave News village newspaper - now 40 years old, covering a range of topics from across that period. The highest scores were gained by Patsy Roynon and Sue Milton, who were each presented with a certificate to record their success!

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 8th, local historian and author Audrey Curtis will recount the history of Twyford and Ruscombe, whilst on Tuesday, February 12th, Graham Horn will tell us about The History and Restoration of the Kennet and Avon Canal.
