Christmas Party

The Wargrave Local History Society meeting in December was our Christmas Party. With a glass of wine, and home made mince pies and blackberry and apple pies provided by Wendy Smith, members took part in a photographic 'quiz'. This consisted of 20 'close up' views of locations of the village in time past which they had to identify. When the answers were revealed, they found that all the images came from pictures in the Society's new The Illustrated Book of Wargrave! The winner was David Williams, with Kathryn Allsop and Sandra Foster as joint 'runners up'.


The next meeting takes place on Tuesday, January 10th, Rob Needham will talk about the history of Wargrave Bells and Bell Ringing, and then on Tuesday, February 14th, Marion Pope will recount her Memories of My Time in Wargrave - from Scouting to the Bowls Club, and her long service on the Parish Council, whilst on Tuesday, March 13th, the Society will hold its Annual General Meeting.
